Lipstick Muse is HOL’s 1st release of 2023, and it doesn’t disappoint with a reminiscence of 80’s shoegaze bands such as Chapterhouse and Lush, it brings together HOLs lyrical talent for telling a story many can relate to. Her idiosyncratic ability to unite opposing forces, empathy and sarcasm, hostility and pleasure unfolds within the narrative. The track takes over the feelings experienced when you’re not able to get someone out of your head even when they’re out of your life. The sad truth of a relationship gone wrong which was actually “never meant to be”!
